Children
God’s Reign Forest is the Children’s Ministry of the Church of Christ at Manor Woods. We are delighted you have chosen to visit with us. Children are very important to us at Manor Woods – that's why our children's classes are geared to making Bible learning enjoyable in an atmosphere of warmth, love and encouragement. Here, the children have a place all to themselves, a place where God's Word comes alive! God’s Reign Forest is designed to meet the needs of children from birth through 5th grade. Our curriculum is well planned, age appropriate, and provides plenty of opportunities for the children to become engaged in their learning experience. For security purposes, every child must be signed in and signed out by the parent or a designated person 14 years or older. This person must be registered with our Children’s Ministry Staff. Our nursery and preschool parents will be given a pager so that we can reach the parent if necessary. Please note: no child will be released without the proper identification. For a healthy environment, we respectfully request you do not bring a child with a runny nose, cold, fever or any signs of illness. We ask this of everyone to protect your child too. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Preschoolers have a lot of energy and are constantly on the move. They need time to develop their imaginations and to play. They are also ready to learn about God and His love for them. Our preschool is divided into age groups so that we can best meet the needs of the children. Our curriculum is age -appropriate and designed to use a variety of activities: puppets, crafts, songs, games and stories. Preschool children, ages 2 through Kindergarten, are placed in classes by their age as of September 1st of the current school year. They are promoted the last Sunday in August to new classes that will reflect what their age will be the following September 1st. When you arrive: Approach our welcome center in the front foyer of our church. Our volunteers will receive you and direct you to the Preschool Registration Desk. After you have registered your child, you will receive an ID card with your child’s number and a pager. If we need to contact you during the service, you will be alerted by the pager. After services, all you have to do is return your ID card and the pager and one of our volunteer staff will verify it against your child's name-tag and release your child to you. What to bring: Just pack a diaper bag (if not potty trained) and label all your child's items with their full name. Let the volunteer staff know of any special instructions you may have. There are no diaper changing areas in the preschool classrooms. If your child is not yet out of diapers, we will page you to care for your child’s personal needs. Preschool Worship: Children participate in Worship using a variety of hands-on materials. Through story-telling, crafts and guided play, these children can learn of God’s love for them. The children are divided into two classes by age: twos and threes, and fours and fives
Our children’s area has been transformed into a rain forest, complete with a hut, trees and creatures. This tropical getaway gives your children a wonderful opportunity to enjoy themselves in fun, creative ways, while we capture their imagination with wonder and discovery. These places are also designed to enrich your child's experience with us while we share the stories of the Bible with them. Ceilings and walls won't change lives, but we are confident that what goes on within your child's heart will! When you arrive:
When your child arrives on Sunday morning, he or she will be greeted by one of our Children's Ministry volunteers. These volunteers have completed an extensive training program, been carefully screened and are committed to the safety of your child. They will get all the necessary information and direct you to the appropriate class. They will answer any specific questions you may have. The check in/out process is quick and simple, and is for the safety of your child.

Sunday Evening Schedule (6:00pm-7:30pm) Nursery (ages birth-3) Sunday@6 Kidz - Quest for Logos Mountain: This program for grades 1-5 is focused on Bible memory. As the children learn more verses, they are closer to finding the "treasure" of the mountain. Sunday evenings are designed as more informal times for study and fellowship. Other EventsEach summer a new theme is picked and the whole church pitches in to make a family focused, evangelistic thrust to the families in the community. Children are encouraged to memorize scripture and to bring friends. Narrow Gate The Narrow Gate meets the second Tuesday of every month from 7:30pm-8:30pm. All children in K-5th grades are welcome to attend. We are learning about the character of Jesus.
