Associate Minister Search Update

The search team for our new Associate Minister of Adult Discipleship and Administration is going strong.  We continue to seek out and pray for qualified candidates that will be a good fit here at the Church of Christ at Manor Woods (please feel free to review the full job description at www.manorwoods.com).  The search team is in the process of reviewing several candidates in the hopes that one will rise to the top.  Our review process includes evaluating a candidate’s resume, ministry experience and background, doctrinal positions, contacting their references, and setting up phone interviews.  As either the need or the timing has provided Dyke and members of the search team have met with and interviewed several potential candidates.  You can be confident that we are pressing on with diligence as we work toward this next big step in the life of the church.  Let’s all keep praying that Manor Woods follows God’s leading in filling this important new ministry position.  All the team members appreciate your prayers for wisdom, as we petition God to send the right candidate at the right time.

Job Description
Associate Minister of Adult Discipleship
and  Administration
  1. Adult Discipleship Responsibilities….. (projected 80% time allocation)
    1. Leadership of the total adult Christian education program.
    2. Direct adult Sunday school program, with particular emphasis on recruiting, training, and equipping teachers and leaders.
    3. Develop and execute a plan to expand the current adult Christian education program.
    4. Oversee and expand the adult small group program.
    5. Train, support and lead each ministry leader in their personal and ministry growth so that they are affirmed, encouraged and challenged as an integral, significant part of the body of Christ.
    6. Develop a process / strategy to enfold new and regular attendees into adult discipleship programs.
  2. Administration Responsibilities …. (projected 20% time allocation)
    1. Day-to-Day supervision of support, maintenance and office staff.
    2. Oversight of church budget / financial reporting.
    3. Oversight of church wide communications and external publications (website, newsletter, bulletins, etc).
    4. Staff contact and liaison for liability and insurance issues.
  3. Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s Degree from a Christian college.
    2. Support the traditional Restoration Movement plea.
    3. Preferably ten years of ministerial experience in a multiple staff setting.
    4. Ability to design and implement a total education experience for adults.
    5. Skills to include administration, educational and / or small group ministry experience with adults.
    6. Ability to attract, equip, and involve a diverse group of volunteer leaders in a variety of adult programs.
    7. Ability to manage office and daily church operations.
  4. Relationships
    1. Reports directly to senior minister.
    2. Supports the direction and ministries of the Elders / Deacons.
    3. Works with volunteer teachers / small group leaders.
    4. Coordinates with other members of the ministerial staff.
  5. Talents Desirable
    1. Computer skills.
    2. Multi-media skills.
